Genki 元気 sits quietly on Rue Dauphine in Paris’ 6th arrondissement, carving out a niche as a distinctive tea house with a focus on refined desserts and light bites. This isn’t your typical café where you just grab a quick espresso; instead, it’s a spot inviting you to slow down and indulge in delicacies like mille crêpes in flavors ranging from yuzu and taro to classic Oreo, alongside fresh rolls and a handful of sweet cakes.

The interior is cozy and inviting, offering a warm refuge particularly appealing on a lazy afternoon or when catching up with friends. While the space can fill up and get a bit lively during peak times, it generally maintains a relaxed vibe where the friendly and attentive staff help keep things comfortable, making it a welcoming place even for solo visitors.

Locals and visitors alike seem drawn by the balance Genki strikes between quality and price—desserts here tend to be generously sized without tipping into overwhelming sweetness, making them suitable for those who appreciate treats that are gratifying but not cloying. The tea and matcha options complement these well, adding to the thoughtful pairing of drinks and desserts.

Because it sits in a tourist-heavy area, some items feel a touch pricey, but this is somewhat offset by the portion sizes and consistent quality. It’s a good choice if you want to enjoy something a bit different from the usual Parisian patisserie offerings—especially if you have a fondness for layered crêpe cakes or want to sip matcha lattes in an intimate setting.

Genki works best as a mid-afternoon stop or early evening spot when you want a sweeter break that doesn’t rush its atmosphere. If you’re nearby in Saint-Germain, it also serves well as a reliable daily dessert destination that offers a lighter, less sugary approach to classic café desserts.

I had a great experience. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it a nice spot to relax or catch up with friends. However, it can get a bit noisy at times, especially during peak hours. The service is excellent—staff members are friendly, polite, and attentive, which adds to the pleasant experience. The selection of cakes and drinks is impressive, not only in taste but also in presentation. Each item is beautifully crafted and delicious.

Very cozy coffe shop, the staff are very sweet and helpful! I tried the mille crêpes and the cheesecake which were quite very good, not too sweet and very generous!

Repeat customer. I'm living closeby and this is one of my top go-to dessert places in this area. I dine out once everyday and I have to say that after comparing the price and food quality, Genki cafe is under-rated: the price is slightly lower than other places in the area, I have dined at many places in Saint German and a simple fruit tart charged me 10euro, yet Genki mille-crepe which cost tons of time and effort to make is a few euro less....that's incredible!! Speaking from my personal experience: I had been living in Tokyo for 6 years, although crepe cakes have long existed in french pastry, but modern mille crepes were invented by Japanese pastry chef Emy Wada. I have had lots of mille crepe cakes in Tokyo and in other countries, also have had some bad mille crepe cakes before....I have to say bravo to Genki cafe, because their chefs really nailed it. Their cakes are always freshly made, delicious, not overly sweet and they have a HUGE selection of flavors, such as strawberry, lime, oreo, sweet potato yam, black sesame, earl grey caramel, tiramisu, coconut....etc. (So far I have tried 90% of all their flavors and enjoyed all of them lol !) If you are not familiar with these cakes but want to give it a try, please choose oreo flavor, it's one of their best sellers, also my husband most favorite ;) This cafe also provide light meals such as freshly made sandwiches and rice bowl, and a large selection of drinks. Service is always good and their washroom is clean and spacious. A small suggestion: it would be nice if the owner can decorate the plain white wall with some framed wall arts ( painting or photo or poster....)

Went there with some friends and ate a lot. The café was pretty and cozy, but quite pricey on certain things but since it's located in a touristy place I get it tho. The bao were tiny but tasty, meat were raw idk if it supposed to be like that but i quite like it haha

Honestly some of the best desserts I’ve had. Not too sweet. I’ve tried the crepes cakes, rolled cake and the gateau mangue. So so good! Plus the matcha latte!
